My Sister

Well, my sister came to stay with us through this past weekend. Once again we had so much fun. Friday night she and I talked and talked while she painted my fingernails. Then Saturday we got up early and headed for Des Moines to shop all day. We ate at Huhot and then shopped and shopped. We got home around 10 that evening which was good for us. Sunday she left after lunch and now we have to wait another year for our sister fun time together. We talked that we should try and do this more often. We will have to work on that.

My Boys

I'm sitting here in my boy's apartment and we are watching Storage Wars. What a great show. We had a great dinner together that I made and then went and did a little shopping. It's been a fun evening and now to chill out and get ready for bed to start another fun day.

Busy for Christmas

I have been so busy shopping and wrapping gifts. I always do a lot of baking too. Making all kinds of cookies and candy is much fun. We have two boys who are really young men now that can really put away the goodies so it keeps me busy keeping up with them. With working part-time and all the Christmas preparations, I am ready to sit down and put my feet up and take it easy for a while.

Apple Bottom

I love clothes, shoes, boots, purses, you name it and apple bottom is a brand that makes very stylish beautiful items. With Christmas coming soon any of their items would make a great gift for that special someone in your life. She would love it!

Fun Time

I just got back today from spending a couple of days with my sons. We had a great time and did a lot in the short time I was with them. We went out to eat a couple of times, saw a movie, and did plenty of shopping. It was really fun and like always the time went too fast.

Back in the day, families would wait for the back to school sales and then get up early to go to their local department store to find their clothes and their backpacks and their school supplies. Now that I got huges sattelite internet, all of that changed.

Retailers online begin doing back to school sales almost as soon as school gets out. To find the best deals you need to be on the lookout. I personally use a website called www.slickdeals.net to find out the best deals. Just recently, I was able to obtain a free Jansport backpack from Staples with a mail in rebate. I heard about the deal on Slickdeals and was able to get on it quickly. That is a savings of $60 dollars. You can't find that in a store.

Shopping for school supplies like paper and pencils can be frustrating. Amazon has a new program called Subscribe and Save, which allows you to sign up to receive paper once every interval you set. That could be once a month, once every other month, or every six months. Because you are "subscribing" to the item, they give you a pretty hefty discount. Then when the school year is over, you can just cancel your subscription. I was able to save lot of money and time this way.

The internet has made all of this shopping possible thanks to the great satellite internet prices I got.

Twin Sister

This weekend my twin sister is coming to stay at my place. We try to do this every summer and we look forward to it so much. We spend a day shopping and we do lots of it. I can't wait for Friday to get here and I hope the time goes by really slow.

I recently was looking for a HDMI cord for our blu ray and I couldn't believe how expensive they were in the stores. I went ahead and purchased one but never opened it because my one son said to check online at Ebay and surely I would find one cheaper. So I did just that and I sure enough found a brand new one for under $5 with free shipping besides. I happily returned the $27 one I bought from the store and am relieved at the money I saved.

Black Friday

Well, tomorrow is Black Friday and my son's are ready to go. They plan to get up extremely early and head to their favorite stores. They already have in mind what they want to run for. They love doing this and I wish I could be with them but I have to work tomorrow. I do plan to drive over after I get off though and hopefully find some deals that are still going on. I had great success last year.

Anymore, where ever a person shops you see them using a barcode scanner. I think it is so clever whoever thought of this idea. It makes it easier for the person checking out the customer's items and also if a customer wants to find out what the price is on a certain something it is so easy to just scan it. I think this is a great improvement to how the stores are ran.

Sister
