Helping Others
I know many elderly people because of where I work. I work at a retirement facility and have over the years helped residents with housekeeping, laundry and also driving them to doctor appointments. That's what I did today. I took a gal over to the eye doctor and sat there for about 2 hours. It makes me feel good to help others and I also get paid for my services. She was very appreciative and I was glad to help her.

Working Weekend
I just got off a working weekend and it sure is nice to look forward to having this weekend off. I love my job and I get to talk to many elderly residents who live where I work. I help serve the lunch and they are so good to me too. When it was my birthday, they all got together and signed a card for me and made my birthday special. I like doing things for them too to bring some joy into their lives.

Pizza Ranch
We are about to head out the door to meet up with staff that we work with and the residents that we serve to go to the Pizza Ranch tonight. The staff is getting our dinners for free thanks to management and the residents want to come along and eat with us. It should be a lot of fun and I am looking forward to the good food.

Walk in Tubs
I work around elderly people quite frequently and I see how hard it can be for them to get around to do their daily activities. I sometimes wonder how they can get themselves in and out of their bathtubs without assistance. So, then I think about walk in tubs and how nice they would be for people like this. I'm not that old and I know I would enjoy one. This is a great idea for anyone who does need help getting in and out of a tub.

Funerals
My husband attended another funeral. It was a close neighbor of theirs growing up. He called her his Mexican mom and they considered him their third son. She hasn't been well for a very long time so it really wasn't a surprise. It is still hard though to lose someone you care so much about. We've had way too many funerals to attend in the past year.

May Day Baskets
I work at a retirement residence and sometimes we staff like to do some little special things for the residents who live there. May day is right around the corner and we all go together and make each resident a May basket. It's kind of fun and they appreciate it too.

Love Needs Expression
Love your neighbor as yourself. Leviticus 19:18. It is so easy to say that we love our neighbors or people in general but do we take the time to express that love to them? A smile or taking the time to visit with them is one simple way to show love for someone. I work around the elderly and I can see at times when someone may be feeling a little lonely. I like to try and give them a smile and sometimes a hug to know that I care about them. I may strike up a conversation so that it helps fill that void of loneliness. It can be such a simple thing to do to let someone know you care about them.

Retirement home
I work at a retirement home. It's enjoyable to work around the elderly. It's like having your grandparents around you all of the time. They make it fun. I help serve them in the dining room at this facility and have fun joking with them and making them smile. I think it makes their day.
