Spring Awakening

ION Television

On Saturday nights we have been able to see some really great western movies on ION. This week the movie was called Prairie Fever. It was very enjoyable to watch and they had some good actors in it. It looks like April 12th they will have another good one on so I will be sure to catch that one.

Snow Again

I couldn't believe it, I woke up yesterday and the ground was covered with lots of snow. This is getting very old. People around here are extremely bummed about this weather. I think everyone will be out enjoying the warmer weather whenever it arrives. I guess that's when people will start complaining about something else. Before we know people will be griping that it's too hot but not me.

Dancing With The Stars

I absolutely love Dancing with the Stars. I am so amazed at how these people with no dance experience can learn the steps to ballroom dancing. I enjoy watching it and seeing the pretty dresses and how much fun they have. It is a great show.

Babies

My little great niece and nephew are so adorable. I recently got a couple of 3 month old pictures of my niece and they are so cute and she is so precious. Then I saw some recent pictures of my great nephew who lives in Texas. He has the biggest eyes like his grandmother. His facial expressions make me smile. They are both way too cute. It is so fun to see how much they are growing.

Court Case

Well, we won our court case this morning so the lady that took advantage of us now owes us back our court costs. Hopefully she will pay them back right away. I'm glad this is behind us and I hope this never happens again.

Easter Dinner

I am planning an Easter dinner with our sons and of course my husband. We are going to grill steaks and I am hoping for a nice day. It will be nice to have our sons home and to share a meal together. We don't get to do that much anymore.

Good Friday

Good Friday is tomorrow and it is to remind us what Jesus did for us. He did die but on the third day, Easter, he rose from the dead and is alive today. Someday we will be in his presence and what joy that will be.

Walks

I went out for another walk today. I had my little MP3 player going and it was so nice. I was a little chilly at first but once I got going it felt good. It is so beautiful and sunny out today. Maybe I can get another walk in yet today this time with my husband.

Barney

Barney on the Andy Griffith Show has to be one of the funniest characters that has ever been on television. My husband and I love to watch that show and it never fails that Barney makes us laugh every time no matter how many times we have seen the shows.

Birthday Party

Yesterday we had a birthday party for my mother in law who is going to be 90. She is in a nursing home with Alzheimer's. She did so well and her daughter dressed her in a cute Norwegian dress outfit. It was a nice afternoon and a lot of family was there to celebrate with her.

Bee Gees

I am a huge fan of the Bee Gees. Right now I am listening to Jive Talkin' while I am on the computer. I love their music and always have. Stayin' Alive is another one of my favorites. I even have some for ring tones on my phone and hopefully will get Jive talkin' also.

Spring Fever

I have Spring Fever so bad right now. I just went out for another long walk and it was awesome. I cleaned off our shelves in our basement this morning. I don't know if it's the nice weather making me want to clean but I just feel like spring cleaning and getting rid of junk. I don't want this nice weather to end.

There is a Chinese/American food buffet place close to where we live. I love eating there. I fill my plate with just a little rice and then add a small spoon of each stirfry that they make. Not all of them but many of them. I love it and would rather eat that then their desserts. It's just yummy.

Sequoia National Park

A few years back my family and I took a trip out to California. On our way to Los Angeles we went to the Sequoia National Park. We met my sister and her family there and spent a couple of nights there. It was amazing and so beautiful. We saw a small black bear crossing the road up there. It was so cute. The cabins we stayed in were older but nice. They have now been taken down and new ones have been built elsewhere. My husband and I would love to go back there and stay another couple of nights sometime in the future.

Cancer

I have a cousin whose wife is struggling with cancer. It is so sad to see her dealing with so much pain. She's a very smiley optimistic person and she has a journal that she shares online of her daily experiences. It's hard to see the days when she hurts so much but then it's wonderful to see when she has good days and stays positive.

Alzheimers

My mother in law has Alzheimer's and the other day she fell pretty hard and hurt her head. I think a migraine or really bad headache has to be one of the most miserable things to deal with. For me, when I have one it makes me feel horrible all over. Today I am dealing with a more mild migraine but it's enough where I just want to go lay down and close my eyes. I feel real bad for people who deal with bad ones on a more often basis, how miserable for them.

Warmer Weather

The Election

The whole election process is getting so old. I am getting tired of hearing about it and it seems like every other day someone is saying something negative against one of the candidates. I will sure be glad when it's over with.

UNI

There was a scare last night at UNI. There was a girl getting threatening text messages from an ex boyfriend. He had threatened to show up with a gun on campus. The security system at UNI was right on the ball and alerted the students and parents to what was going on. It was scary and everything worked out fine. I'm sure glad they have good security there.

Good Samaritan

What would you do if you saw someone in distress? Would you stop and help them or find out what was going on? I would hope that I would stop and help. I suppose it would depend on the situation. I would like to think that I would be a good Samaritan.

Staff Supper

We had our annual staff supper tonight. We all have such a good time. We get to order whatever we want. I got a ribeye, baked potato, coleslaw, and lemon pie. We have a lot of goodies like mozzarella sticks and onion rings and they were delicious. It was a good time and my belly is full.

Password

I heard yesterday that the game show Password is going to be on tv again. The host will be Regis Philbin. He was saying how different the show will be from the older show. Instead of winning only hundreds of dollars the contestants will be able to win a million dollars. No surprise there. That's pretty common in most of these game shows anymore. I'm looking forward to it being on. I liked the old show.

Apartments

Well, we are going to Cedar Falls tomorrow to hopefully find our sons a place to live for next school year. The bad thing is the rent starts in May and they have a lease where they are living now through to July 1. So that could get expensive paying rent at two places. Hopefully we can find a place that will wait till July.

Collision

A car collided with a bus carrying inmates. The bus was on the way to taking the inmates to their work site. The car lost control on the snowy road. The front end of the car was sheered off from the collision. The driver of the car was taken to the hospital with injuries and 4 inmates were treated and released with minor injuries. The weather this winter has been just horrible for accidents.

Wendy's Shooting

A 60 year old man came out of a bathroom at a Wendy's in Florida and started shooting. He fatally shot a person and 3 others were injured before he turned the gun on himself. How sad, I don't understand why they just don't take their own life but instead they have to try and take other's lives too. Very sad.

Lemon Pie

We had lemon pie at work today and when the cook was dishing pieces up I made a comment on giving me a big piece. Well, the cook thought she was funny and put one and a half pieces onto a plate for me and it was so good I ate all of it besides my dinner. I won't need to eat for awhile.
