Christmas

This is the week I am really trying to concentrate on getting ready for Christmas. I did some shopping today to buy some stocking stuffers, groceries and necessities. It's been a busy week and I have one more day off before the weekend. I am hoping to accomplish much tomorrow.

First Communion Invitations

A young person may experience special days in their life such as a first communion, confirmation or baptism. Most families have a celebration after one of these events happens and it makes it special for the young person and family too. So of course you would probably need to get confirmation, baptism and first communion invitations to invite loved ones and friends to celebrate with you. Miami Florida

My family has been to Florida many times and we love it every time we go down there. It is a beautiful state and wonderful weather especially in the winter time. One city I would love to visit sometime is miami florida. What I have seen of it the beaches are so beautiful and there are so many things to do there. Hopefully someday we will get to visit there.

Flash Drive

Our sons are big on having a flash drive around to transfer information from one computer to another and to help hold information so that it keeps it off their computer. It helps to make it so it frees up room on their hard drive. I would love to get one to store photos on and also make it easier for me to put them on my husband's computer. They are a great invention.

Christmas Shopping

On black Friday we got a little start on our holiday shopping. We are planning to get away a day this week to hopefully finish up. The men in my family enjoy the Minnesota Vikings so we may head up north where the Viking's clothing and other items are in plenty. Hopefully we can finish up and be done this week.

Black Friday

Well, tomorrow is Black Friday and my son's are ready to go. They plan to get up extremely early and head to their favorite stores. They already have in mind what they want to run for. They love doing this and I wish I could be with them but I have to work tomorrow. I do plan to drive over after I get off though and hopefully find some deals that are still going on. I had great success last year.

Thanksgiving Meal

Oh my! I ate way too much. Everything was so delicious. I think my whole family is kind of miserable right now from indulging so much. It's fun though and we surely don't do this everyday. I am looking forward to having some pumpkin pie and chocolate pie when the fullness wears off.

Thanksgiving

I can hardly believe that it is Thanksgiving day already. I have the turkey in the oven and it won't be long and I will be pealing potatoes and getting ready to cook them. I made my pies after I got off of work last night so they are ready to enjoy. We have our sons home which is the best part. It will be a great day with great food. Bell TV

We will be soon looking for another television for our home. We are hoping for a flat screen, LCD and a pretty good size one. There are so many brands out there to choose from and of course we want to choose from a manufacturer that makes a television that will last us many years. A bell tv is an option. I am not familiar with them but it sounds like they manufacture some very nice televisions. We may have to look into that further.

Bonus

Tonight my husband who is my boss will find out at his board meeting if the staff will receive the yearly bonus we have gotten over the past years. Last year we got one but it was a smaller percentage. Nobody complained because we were all so thankful for getting what we got. Not only are we all grateful for the bonuses but that we are all still working and have jobs. God is so good.

Snow

This past weekend we woke up to snow on the ground. It wasn't a lot but it did cover the roof tops and vehicles. It feels way to early for weather like this. The weather people are saying the highs should still be in the 60s. We are all hoping we see some of that warmer weather yet before winter is here for good.

Supper

I had to work today and I work around food all day. I eat well at lunch time because we get our lunch for free. So when it is time for supper I have a very hard time thinking of something to fix. Painting

I have been wanting to paint the main level of our home for some time now. Since I went to stay with my sister this past weekend and seeing all the painting they have done it made me want to get started. I think we will darken our walls some in the brownish tint. It will give it a warmer feel to our house and also hide dirty walls better.:) I hate to paint but knowing that it will improve our home makes me want to do it.

Popcorn

Occasionally I enjoy popcorn. My husband made some for the guys while they are watching the game so asked him if he would give me some. I'm not a huge fan of microwave popcorn but this is pretty good. I need to get off this computer and go enjoy it while I watch Dancing with the Stars.

Football

Our sons are home tonight and they are watching football with their dad and a friend. The Vikings are playing the Green Bay Packers tonight and that should be an interesting game since Brett Favre is now playing for the Vikings. The Vikings so far have no losses and we hope that continues.

It has been a few years since my whole family has been to Disney World. We had such a great time when we went and there was so much to see and do. Our boys, who are adults now, would love to go back with their friends. I don't blame them at all because I know how much fun it would be for them. Planet Earth

I have recently been recording Planet Earth on our dvr. On occasion my husband and I have been watching some of the episodes and they are so amazing. We have HD and the pictures are crystal clear. It is hard to believe but soon we will be seeing signs of the holidays approaching. I know of some people who are already planning their gift buying for friends and loved ones. Summer Heat

Bluray

This past spring my husband and I decided to get hooked up with high definition television. We are still in awe of how clear and beautiful the HD programs are. It makes you feel as if you are right there. Now we are thinking we need to purchase a bluray dvd player because if we want to watch dvds in HD we need one to do so. What an extra enjoyment in watching our favorite movies in this way. It will feel like we are in the theater watching the movies.

Destination Weddings

Planning a wedding can be stressful but can also be so fun. Anymore when we go to a wedding they are so fantastic even way more then when I got married 27 years ago. Can you imagine planning a wedding down in the Riviera Maya in Mexico? My husband and I have been there and it is absolutely beautiful. This is the perfect location for destination weddings. A couple could plan their entire ceremony on the white sandy beach and then take their honeymoon at a Karisma Hotel where they offer an all inclusive package. This hotel is luxurious and you will feel pampered like you should be on your honeymoon. What a way to have the wedding and honeymoon of your dreams.

Suntanning

Well, I think my suntanning days are numbered. I told my husband the other day that we just as well take down the pool now because the water is way to cold to get into it and I can't imagine that we will be getting anymore long stretches of hot weather in the near future to warm it up. So, I guess if I want to tan anymore I will have to lay in my lawn chair and soak up some rays.

DVR

A couple of years ago with hooked up with Dish Network. We really like it except when we get bad weather then we lose our signal. Other then that it is great. Along with it we got a dual receiver and a DVR. I don't know how we got along without it before. It is the most amazing unit. It makes recording our favorite shows so easy and the playback couldn't be more simple. It sure makes life easier then the vhs players.

Work Schedule

At the beginning of summer we had an employee leave us for another job. So of course that has left us shorthanded and I have been putting in more hours at work. With her being hired we have changed the work schedule so that I will be picking up 4 more days a month. I am somewhat happy about it because I can continue to get those larger checks.

My husband has a nice office but sometimes I think it would be nice if he could update some of his office furniture. When putting new furniture in an office it really adds warmth and class to it. He has many people go in and out of his office and it does look inviting but I think it would look more inviting with more up to date type of furniture such as chairs and a new desk. Maybe someday that will happen.

RV Parks

My family loves to camp. There is nothing like being out in your camper or tent in a beautiful park enjoying each others company and getting away from everyday life. Many people enjoy taking their campers and motorhomes with them when they travel across the country and are on the outlook for some nice rv parks. Vegas Vacations

Have you ever had a chance to take Vegas vacations? We were very lucky to get to travel through Las Vegas several years ago and we stayed a couple of nights in one of their beautiful hotels. Vegas is so lively and full of fun. There is so much to see and do there. There is a lot of great entertainment to see for the whole family. It is so worth the time to plan a vacation to Vegas. I am hoping that sometime in the near future we can go again.

Hot and Humid

We had the most mild, cool July in a long time but since it became August the heat and humidity are on the rise. It finally feels like summer. Working

I have had to work the past six days in a row. I haven't worked that many days in a row in many many years. It went pretty well and my sore feet survived it but I am so glad that stretch is over. HD Programming

July 4th

Did you get to do anything special for July 4th? I had to work that day and so did my husband. We got out of our jobs fairly early and went home and grilled and I had made a lot of other great side dishes. My husband attended another funeral. It was a close neighbor of theirs growing up. He called her his Mexican mom and they considered him their third son. Back Pain

I have dealt with back pain for many years now. I'm not trying to be negative but it just seems to be getting worse every year. Raking Leaves

When my husband gets home we are planning to rake out the leaves around our bushes on the north side of our house. They really collect there over the winter and we need to clean them out so that they can breath. It will also look 100% better. Graduations

You can sure tell graduations are not too far away. We have received so many invitations this year so far. I think we are up to 7 and are expecting to see at least one more if not more. There are so many days that I feel so tired from night after night of restless sleep and it greatly affects how I feel during each day. Sadness

My Uncle passed away on Sunday. He had surgery last week and he seemed to be doing pretty well then his lungs collapsed and his heart just couldn't take anymore. He was a cool guy and we grew up seeing him and his family a lot. Tomorrow will be a sad day.

HD Programming

Well, we have had our HD programming for about a week now and we just love it. The picture is so clear and the colors are amazing. I am just in awe of how improved it looks from regular television. This past weekend we saw a mix of precipitation and it sounds as if we are in for some more through this evening and throughout the day tomorrow. Dophins

Twice when we were in Daytona Beach we saw dolphins. It was such a cool site. One time was when we were at a restaurant and there were 4 of them together. The other time was when we were looking out the front window of the condo that we were staying in and out in the Atlantic Ocean were a couple of dolphins. St. Louis Arch

When we were traveling we had to drive through St. Louis, Missouri. There off into the distance was the St. Louis Arch. What an amazing site to behold. A few years back on another vacation we traveled through there and actually stopped at the Arch and went up inside of it. The trip to the top was unique. It felt like we were in a space capsule. It was small and confined and held 5 people inside. It was worth it though to look out over the city from the top of the Arch.

New Van

About a week before we took our trip we bought a new Dodge Grand Caravan. It is black and beautiful. We have never bought a brand new vehicle since we have been married and we have been married for almost 27 years. We love it and it drives so nice. It was fun taking it on the road trip. Model Cars

It is so fun to watch my husband when we get around model cars. He use to have a Cuda when he was younger so he is always on the outlook for Cudas in these model cars. So when we were on vacation and visited the flea market he found a couple of booths that he was just infatuated with. He ended up bringing home another Cuda, a long truck, and another truck pulling a trailer for him to put his cars on. I guess he will always be a little boy at heart. Kind of like me and dolls. Flea Market and Farmers Market

In Daytona Beach they have a huge Flea Market and Farmers Market every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We went to it every day. It was so fun and so much to look at. And, wow, the bargains a person could find was amazing. We had so much fun and we found t shirts and sweatshirts for such great buys.

GPS

A little while back a girl I work with wanted to try and get rid of some chickens she had in her freezer. So a few of us girls took some. I took one because my husband does not eat chicken. Family

Van
