Fair

My husband and I went to the state fair last Thursday. It was an absolute gorgeous day and because of that there were so many people attending. I don't think I have ever seen that many people there. We enjoyed ourselves very much and ate our share of fair food. One of my favorite things to do is to walk through the animal barns. There we saw a huge elk and it had a huge rack of antlers on his head. He was so beautiful. It was a great day!

Baby Birds

The other day I was stepping out on our deck and as soon as I closed the door a baby dove flew down by my feet. He then realized what he had done and flew down by our pool so I walked after him. Then I realized we had a baby black bird floating on top of our pool and he couldn't get out. So my husband rescued him and put him out in the grass where later he went away. Then I had to go back and see if the baby dove was okay and sure enough he was fine and soon flew out of the pool area. I just want to make sure that they are safe and okay.

Baby Bunny

The other evening my husband and I were sitting and watching television together and suddenly my husband said to look out the window because he saw a baby bunny hopping up to our deck. I jumped up and saw how cute he was. I attempted to go outside and get some pictures but of him but of course he was scared and kept hopping away. Finally got a picture and he is hiding behind one of our bushes. I think it's pretty cute.

Entertainnment with a message for all!

I heard all about the WALL-E craze, but never got to see the movie for myself. It finally came on my movie channels I get with the best satellite tv in Texas, so I watched it with my 5 year old niece. I do not know how a movie with so little dialogue kept BOTH of us so entertained! I enjoyed the love story aspect and I know she loved the visual style of the film. I felt the strong presence of the environmental issues this film was promoting, but I did not know if she would or not. She actually ended up asking me after the film, "Is this movie the future?" I know she is young, but the way she was asking was as if she expected this to be the future! It seemed to relate enough to real life with the twist with the modern technologies, that this could very well happen. The film sparked a discussion about the future and what we can do. I think he generation will have even more problems to face than my own, so it's nice to have her thinking at a young age about what is wrong in the world. Thank you WALL-E! This is definitely one of my top three favorite animated movies from now on.

Baby Robins

There is a nest just outside the window where I work and there have been three baby robins in there. Last week they started to leave the nest. One by one they disappeared except for the last one. He sat up in the nest looking down and I'm sure thinking to himself, "That's a long ways down there to drop if I can't fly." The next thing I knew my coworker was telling me he was on the ground. He hopped around till his mother found him. I'm hoping he is still doing okay.

Baby Birds

This is a fun time of year when we see baby birds around our place. We have had a couple of baby robins in our yard and it is so cute how they follow their mom around. Then the other day we found a baby black bird on our basketball floor. He was adorable so I took some pictures of him.

Planet Earth

I have recently been recording Planet Earth on our dvr. On occasion my husband and I have been watching some of the episodes and they are so amazing. We have HD and the pictures are crystal clear. I am amazed at the shots they take of these animals and insects. It is remarkable and so fun to watch. If you get a chance to watch any of the Planet Earth episodes, please do.

Cat Supplies

It is fun to have a pet. They give you love like no other thing alive. When I was younger we had cats and dogs and I enjoyed them so much. When you own a pet you need to get them dog and cat supplies. They need food of course but you may want to get them toys to play with or treatment for fleas or just something fun to dress them up in. Whatever the supplies may be you want to try and find a great deal on them. It is always important to try and save money. When you shop online at jefferspet.com you can find some really great deals on supplies for any type of pet. Check them out today.

Dophins

Twice when we were in Daytona Beach we saw dolphins. It was such a cool site. One time was when we were at a restaurant and there were 4 of them together. The other time was when we were looking out the front window of the condo that we were staying in and out in the Atlantic Ocean were a couple of dolphins. I got a chance to take some video of them in the ocean and am hoping it turned out good.

Yorkies

I think I've shared this before but it has been awhile that my favorite dog is the small Yorkshire terriers. I would love to have one for a pet but my husband and I have priced them and they are pretty expensive. Maybe someday we will be able to find a good deal on one, I hope. My son found this video and it is absolutely adorable. This Yorkie is just like the one I would like to have someday.

Giraffes

Giraffes are my favorite animal. I don't know what it is that I like so much about them but they just seem like gentle giants. I have a few giraffe items around our house and found a beautiful picture of one this past summer to hang on my wall. My great niece also likes giraffes which I think is very cool. She has a lot of giraffe toys. I found this picture of a mother giraffe kissing the head of her baby and thought it was adorable so I wanted to post it on my blog.

Deer

Blog Pictures | acobox.com
We have several friends that love to go deer hunting. I work with one of those friends and he has gotten all he can for the season with a bow and arrow. He not only got a deer, he got a male and a female and he also got a wild turkey. He is quite the hunter. And when it's time hunt with a shotgun he most likely won't be able to hunt deer because he has already gotten two.

Cat or Skunk?

I heard a story on the radio yesterday that a woman was outside before dusk and she thought she was petting her neighbor's cat. She found out quickly that she was petting a skunk. The skunk sprayed her and ran into her house. The police were at her house for a few hours looking for this skunk and the person telling this story said they really were not sure if they got the skunk out of the house or not. I think she will be more careful before she goes to pet a cat again.
