Medical Drug Reference Software

More then 50% of physicians are carrying around small size devices in their lab coats such as PDA or smartphones. These come in very handy when it comes to prescribing medication to a patient. A patient may have one or several prescription medications that they are already taking and they come in with a certain kind of infection. The doctor can easily and quickly access his PDA or smartphone to see if there will be any kind of interactions with the other medications the patient is already taking.
Epocrates is a company that has drug reference guides available for multiple devices and offers clinicians. They have free medical Pocket PC software, medical Palm software, and free medical Windows Mobile software. They have also just announced free medical drug reference software for BlackBerry devices. This is wonderful to know that now physicians can find out before hand what drugs are safe to take and what are not before getting them prescribed to the patient.
“This announcement was paid for by Epocrates.”
